In order to protect the health and welfare of our employees along with keeping our customers and public safe, effective March 23, 2020 we are temporarily making the following collection changes until further notice.

  • All trash/refuse must be placed in a company designated cart, a can with handles, or bagged. Loose unconstrained items will not be collected. More specifically:
  • All bulk item/construction debris collection is suspended until further notice.
  • All white good/e-waste collection is suspended until further notice.

(Note:  please see links towards top for information about changes to the yard waste procedures.)

MDC will continue practicing the protocols and recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Again, these are temporary changes made in the effort to keep your community and our employees safe. We will update you as soon as anything changes moving forward.

Wonder Lake Fire Protection District

Click here for details on the Department.

There is a slight change in response protocol due to the COVID-19 virus. The fire district will follow the advice of The Center of Disease Control (CDC) and The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) isolation guidelines and recommendations for First Responders.

In the event that you need WLFPD to respond for an emergency and you dial 911, you will be asked a series of questions by the 911 operator. Please answer all these questions to the best of your abilities. When fire department crews arrive they will also ask similar questions as well as be dressed in eye protection, masks, etc. Please do not be alarmed.

In no way will this delay or hinder any care for our community; this is simply to further protect the health of citizens as well as these first responders.  Contact the WL Fire Protection District at 815-728-0088 or message them on their Facebook Page (link above) if you have questions or concerns.

Wonder Lake Police Department

There are no major changes in place at this time; the Department is in constant communication with county, state and federal authorities as the virus situation unfolds.  (The WLPD is working hard to keep officers healthy and safe - the Village of Wonder Lake will make an announcement and also note it here if any community-related changes will be occuring.)
